Minnesota figures prominently thanks in part to 36-minute game format.
Minnesota is known as the home of musical greats Bob Dylan and Prince, the Mall of America and if the 2024-25 high school basketball season is any indication, a lot of really high-scoring basketball teams.
Thanks largely to 18-minute halves and four additional minutes of play in each game, Minnesota was home to five of the top 11 highest-scoring teams during the 2024-25 season.
New York and Texas each have four teams among the top 25.
Hopkins (Minnetonka) is the highest-scoring Minnesota team at 90.9 points per game, coming in at No. 2 behind national leader
Hillcrest Prep (Phoenix, Ariz.) at 92.0.
Other Minnesota teams cracking the list include No. 5
Alexandria at 89.9 points per game, No. 8
Richfield at 88.5, No. 9
Cherry (Iron) at 88.4, No. 11
Littlefork-Big Falls (Littlefork) at 87.1 and No. 20
Wayzata (Plymouth) at 85.1.
