West Shore Christian Academy suffers fifth straight loss on the road

West Shore Christian Academy's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 40-27 to Mount Calvary Christian. West Shore Christian Academy lost against Mount Calvary Christian in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 49-12 score last time.

Mount Calvary Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayley Barnes out in front who scored 16 points. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Audrey Gash, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.

West Shore Christian Academy's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.8 points per game. As for Mount Calvary Christian, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Shore Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mount Calvary Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 12, 2024. Mount Calvary Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Delaware County Christian at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. Delaware County Christian's defense has only allowed 22.6 points per game this season, so Mount Calvary Christian's offense will have their work cut out for Mount Calvary Christian.
