The Hay Springs Hawks took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They came out on top against Cody-Kilgore by a score of 66-54. This was payback for Hay Springs, who suffered a 46-44 loss the last time these two teams met.

Hay Springs was led to victory by Dylan Young and Gage Mintken. Young scored 21 points along with 3 steals, while Mintken scored 32 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Jaron Dahlgren, who scored 0 points along with 12 rebounds.

Hay Springs' victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Cody-Kilgore, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Arthur County the next time they take the court. Hay Springs will host Arthur County at TBD on Saturday, while Cody-Kilgore will host them on Friday.
