Preview: Jesuit Crusaders vs. Central Catholic Rams
Jesuit is 7-0 against Central Catholic since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Jesuit Crusaders will be home for the holidays to greet the Central Catholic Rams at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Jesuit unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak dating back to last season on Tuesday. They took a 43-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Linn.
The losing side was boosted by Kendra Hicks, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for she.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Central Catholic, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-42 loss to McMinnville on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Central Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while McMinnville is ranked sixth).
Jesuit's defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-1. As for Central Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Everything came up roses for Jesuit against Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in December of 2021 as the team secured a 56-10 win. With Jesuit ahead 35-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
