Truckee took care of business in their home opener on Saturday (and then some). They blew past the Damonte Ranch Mustangs 36-14. The win was familiar territory for the Wolverines who have now won 14 matches in a row dating back to last season.
Truckee got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jace Estabrook out in front who rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 38 yards and a touchdown while completing 80% of his passes. Estabrook got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible79 yards. Another rusher making a difference was Joseph Birnbaum, who rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Birnbaum wasn't the only one working in the rushing yards department: Truckee was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 310 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Damonte Ranch only rushed for 195.
When it comes to explaining why Damonte Ranch lost, don't look at Kobe Craig. Despite the final result, he rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown. Amari Nash also helped out with an impressive 87 receiving yards.
