An 800-yard passing game, two 60-yard field goals, 107 rushing attempts over two games and a 600-yard rushing performance are among the best single-game performances from the 2024 high school football season.
Evangel Christian Academy (Shreveport, La.) is home to some all-time great prep quarterbacks, including Brock Berlin and Josh Booty. Now add
Peyton Houston to the list after he threw for 817 yards in a 77-76 overtime loss to Captain Shreve (Shreveport). The 817 yards rank as the third-highest single-game total in history and the most ever for a sophomore. Houston also topped the nation this year with 53 completions.
Dominic De Freitas of
NorthWood (Nappanee, Ind.) had not one, but two 60-yard field goals this year. De Freitas had a 60-yard field goal on Sept. 20 vs. Northridge and topped that effort a week later with a 62-yard field goal against Concord. He is believed to be just the third high school kicker with two field goals of 60 yards or more. The others are Corey Lewis of
Diamond Ranch Academy (Hurricane, Utah) and Graham Gano of
Tate (Cantonment, Fla.).

Keeshawn Love of Fernley (Nev.) ran for 526 yards in October during a win over Lowry, the third-highest total nationally during the 2024 season. (PHOTO: Ed Andersen)
Trey Coury of
Burrell (Lower Burrell, Pa.) had 269 carries in 10 games this year but 107 of them occurred in two games. He had 54 carries for 252 yards in a win over East Allegheny and followed that performance with 53 carries for 266 yards in a win over Valley. Those two games proved to be the only wins for the Bucs in 2024 and those efforts put Coury in the top two spots for single-game rushing attempts.
Tyrese Woodgett of
Coffee (Douglas, Ga.) didn't just break the state record for rushing yards in a single game, he annihilated it. Averaging 31.8 yards a carry on 19 carries, Woodgett gained 605 yards in a 72-48 win over Sequoyah to break the previous record by 120 yards, according to Todd Holcomb of the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
The efforts of Houston, De Freitas, Coury and Woodgett are just some of the performances listed below detailing the best single-game performances of the 2024 season. Only statistics submitted by coaches into the MaxPreps database are included on the list.
