Alden-Hebron will be up against a hot Ashton-Franklin Center team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Ashton-Franklin Center's pitcher stepped up to hand West Carroll a 17-0 shutout on Monday. The matchup marked the Raiders' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Caleb Thomas was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Brock Lehman was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Logan O'Brien, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Ashton-Franklin Center always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Carroll only posted an OBP of .400.
Meanwhile, Alden-Hebron came up short against Johnsburg on Monday, falling 19-1.
Alden-Hebron saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Nunez, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Ashton-Franklin Center's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Alden-Hebron, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything went Ashton-Franklin Center's way against Alden-Hebron in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Ashton-Franklin Center made off with a 15-0 victory.
