It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Porter Spartans can now relate to. They were beaten by Longview 59-7 on Friday. Porter's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Longview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Tutt, who threw for 151 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Willie Nelson was in the mix too, providing Longview with two touchdowns.
Porter's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Longview, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Porter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Longview is on the road again on Friday and play against Reedy at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. One thing working in Reedy's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
