Bishop has gone 9-1 against Francis Parker recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Knights will welcome the Lancers at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bishop's is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against El Cajon Valley on Tuesday as they made off with a 29-1 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Knights with their most commanding win of the season.
Bella Bravo and Sydney Mafong made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Bravo struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Mafong pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those six strikeouts gave Bravo a new career-high. At bat, Bravo went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI, while Mafong got on base in five of her six plate appearances with six RBI, four runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Jayla Stafford was incredible, going 4-for-5 with five runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Sophie Brunner, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Bishop's kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, while Francis Parker put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Lincoln. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Hornets. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lancers.
Evelyn Luo made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Luo was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Payton Zborowski and Ella Kahraman did most of the damage at the plate: Zborowski went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs, while Kahraman went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Brynn Holst was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.
Francis Parker's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Bishop's, their win bumped their record up to 8-4-1.
Bishop's came out on top in a nail-biter against Francis Parker when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 9-8. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
