The St. John Bosco Braves end the 2019 season as the MaxPreps National Champions.
They finished 13-1 and moved into the top spot after beating then No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana) in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 championship. They followed that with a 49-28 win against No. 12 De La Salle (Concord) to win the school's first CIF Open Division state title since 2016.
Bosco's resume is one of the strongest in the country with other notable wins over DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.), Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.), Liberty (Henderson, Nev.), Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, Md.), Servite (Anaheim, Calif.), JSerra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.), Calabasas (Calif.) and Corona Centennial (Calif.).
St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.), North Shore (Houston) and Marietta (Ga.) all moved up in the final rankings.

They wrapped up their first undefeated season since 2010, finishing 15-0, but St. Thomas Aquinas' resume didn't stack up with the Braves or Monarchs.
