The Cary Imps will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Apex Friendship Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Cary focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday.
Even though Cary has not done well against Holly Springs recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Cary walked away with a 51-42 victory over Holly Springs.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cary to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nadia Snesarev, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Snesarev pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luci Augustson, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Meanwhile, Apex Friendship's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell 51-42 to Broughton.
The losing side was boosted by Avery Kiger, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 50% of Apex Friendship's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Cary's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Apex Friendship, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Cary took a serious blow against Apex Friendship in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 78-30. Thankfully for Cary, Victoria Sagne (who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
