Basketball Recap: Richard Winn Academy Find Success

Richard Winn Academy won the last time they faced Anderson Christian, and Charlie Bonds did his part to make sure it happened again. The Richard Winn Academy Eagles breezed by the Anderson Christian Lions to the tune of 61-33 on Wednesday thanks in part to Bonds, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 boards. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Bennett Nicholson was another key player, putting up nine points along with five boards and five steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

The victory got Richard Winn Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Anderson Christian, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richard Winn Academy and Our Lady of the Rosary will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Richard Winn Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season. As for Anderson Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Temple Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Temple Christian Academy also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 56.4 points per game.
