There's no place like home for the Laurel Christian Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 38-29 victory over Sylva Bay Academy on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Laurel Christian, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Sylva Bay Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sydney Poole, who scored five points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Marcy Griffin, who scored seven points.
Laurel Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Sylva Bay Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.
Laurel Christian will be playing at home against Prentiss Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Prentiss Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Sylva Bay Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Discovery Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Discovery Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
