Even though the Joppatowne Mariners scored an imposing 70 points on Wednesday, the Aberdeen Eagles still came out on top. Aberdeen took their game against the Mariners 77-70. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Aberdeen.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Aberdeen to victory, but perhaps none more so than DARION PARRIS, who scored 28 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. PARRIS is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was JOMAR CAMACHO, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Despite the defeat, Joppatowne saw an underclassman step up: Kishann Smith dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Smith hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Pollock, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Aberdeen's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10. As for Joppatowne, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aberdeen will take on the Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Joppatowne, they will play host again and welcome the Cougars, where tip off is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Fallston knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully the Mariners like a good challenge.
