Lincoln Leadership Academy is 0-6 against Mahanoy Area since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Saturday.  Lincoln Leadership Academy took a loss when they played away from home  last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Thursday. They won by a  run and slipped past Weatherly  4-3.
  Jonathan Panariello made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  struck out nine batters over  5.2 innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits (and only one walk). Panariello has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive pitching appearances. Panariello was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.
 Panariello wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Darvin Polanco, who  went 1-for-3 with a  stolen base and  an  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Mahanoy Area came up short against Panther Valley on Wednesday and fell  7-3.
 The  win  got Lincoln Leadership Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Mahanoy Area, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with that  loss, which was their fourth straight  on the road.
 Lincoln Leadership Academy might still be hurting after the  20-6 defeat they got from Mahanoy Area  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2023. Can Lincoln Leadership Academy avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
