The Grove City Greyhounds waltzed into their game Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They put the hurt on Hilliard Darby with a sharp 77-54 victory. Grove City's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Grove City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kevin Gallagher out in front who scored 17 points. The contest was Gallagher's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kraig Gilbert, who scored 15 points.
Grove City pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Hilliard Darby, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
Grove City will head out on the road to face off against Westerville Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hilliard Darby will be home for the holidays to greet Olentangy Berlin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Olentangy Berlin has insisted on making their lastfour contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-3 during that stretch of close contests.
