Baseball Recap: Eatonville Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Eatonville extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 7-9 in the process. They blew past the Washington Patriots 13-1. The Cruisers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Ben Smith was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colton Herbrand, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Justen Koch, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Eatonville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington struck out nine times.

As for Washington, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly 12 runs.

On Washington's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Burnett, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eatonville will face off against Orting at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Washington, they will take on Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
