Apple Valley is 9-1 against Burroughs since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Sun Devils will take on the Burros at 3:15 p.m. Apple Valley will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Apple Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Hesperia with a sharp 22-3 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Sun Devils have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Makaylee Cerf made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooke Johnson, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Hailey Macias was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Apple Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hesperia didn't launched any home runs.
Meanwhile, Burroughs came up short against Oak Hills on Tuesday, falling 14-8.
Sam Hibbs led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. Lorrain Gamble also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Apple Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Burroughs, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-10.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Apple Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. However, it's not like Burroughs struggles in that department as they've averaged .379. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
