St. James is 0-9 against Carolina Forest since September of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The St. James Sharks will be playing at home against the Carolina Forest Panthers at 7:30 p.m. St. James will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Carolina Forest is ranked 33rd).
Last Thursday, St. James took a serious blow against Sumter, falling 42-14. St. James was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Despite the loss, St. James got a solid performance out of Connor Schwalm, who rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 122 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Carolina Forest had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They breezed by Socastee at home to the tune of 31-0. The result was nothing new for Carolina Forest, who have now won four games by 22 points or more so far this season.
St. James has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Carolina Forest, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
St. James suffered a grim 41-21 defeat to Carolina Forest in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Will St. James have more luck at home instead of on the road?
