The Independence Falcons posted their biggest win since November 18, 2023 on Friday. They blew past Stockdale 54-28. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Independence has posted against Stockdale since January 8, 2016.
Independence was led to victory by Olivia Fletcher and Kaylynn Bolden. Fletcher scored 17 points along with seven steals, while Bolden dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. Bolden has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Castaneda, who scored ten points.
Independence is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. As for Stockdale, they bumped their record down to 2-15 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road.
Independence the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Bakersfield Christian at 5:45 p.m. on January 24th. One thing working in Bakersfield Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups. As for Stockdale, they will head out on the road to take on Garces Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Garces Memorial comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
