The Porter Spartans will be playing at home against the Barbers Hill Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Porter fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 31-24 victory over Lee on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Barbers Hill stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 52-23 victory over Port Arthur Memorial. Winning may never get old, but Barbers Hill sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Jadon Rodriguez was a one-man wrecking crew for Barbers Hill as he rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Rodriguez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kody Fuentes, who threw for 209 yards and three touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Porter to 6-3 and Barbers Hill to 8-1.
Porter came up short against Barbers Hill when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 28-20. Will Porter have more luck at home instead of on the road?
