The Cottage Cougars waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They walked away with a 40-27 win over Covenant Christian Academy. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cottage also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
Alyssa Briggs was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 13 straight games. Finley Love was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Cottage is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Covenant Christian Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Cottage will head out on the road to square off against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Atlanta Area School for the Deaf comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Covenant Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
