Travis Kost was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Davenport kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wimberley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Navarro on Thursday as they made off with a 9-2 victory.
Ty Thames and Jaden Hall made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Thames tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Hall tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Thames has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Thames went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Hall got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Yeatter, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Bryson Anderson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Wimberley is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Davenport, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-3-2.
Davenport came up short against Wimberley in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 3-0. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
