While East Central's win against Marshall wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hornets won by a run and slipped past the Rams 5-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hornets as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Gonzalo Martinez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ace Araiza, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

East Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

East Central's win bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Marshall, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Central will welcome Sotomayor at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marshall, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Holmes at 4:45 p.m. The Rams are facing the Huskies at the right time seeing as the Huskies are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
