The Charlotte Orioles will be home for the holidays to greet the Okemos Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Charlotte comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Tuesday, Charlotte came up short against St. Johns and fell 58-45. Charlotte has not had much luck with St. Johns recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Defeat or not, Charlotte got some senior leadership from Jaelyn Baker who scored 12 points along with nine steals and seven rebounds and Lyndi Miller who scored 12 points. Miller also grabbed two steals for the first time this season.
Meanwhile, Okemos might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting DeWitt an easy 67-43 victory. While losing is never fun, Okemos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while DeWitt is ranked ninth).
Charlotte bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Okemos, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Charlotte came out on top in a nail-biter against Okemos in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, sneaking past 48-46. Does Charlotte have another victory up their sleeve, or will Okemos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
