Basketball Recap: Leadership Skates Past Mare Island Tech Academy with Ease

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Leadership brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They blew past the Mare Island Tech Academy Griffins 56-6 on Saturday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-2.

Hannah Tagaga had a dynamite game for Leadership, going 10 for 15 on her way to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Those 21 points gave Tagaga a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nayra Hinostroza, who posted eight points and five steals.

With the victory, Leadership broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-3. As for Mare Island Tech Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Leadership wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-13 win against Lighthouse Community on the 9th. As for Mare Island Tech Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 20-18 victory against Leadership Public Schools Richmond on the 16th.
