Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Design Tech). Everything went their way against the Luis Valdez Leadership Academy Lions on Monday as they made off with an 18-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.
Sonia Teismann made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Teismann was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.
In other batting news, Jeneva Fletcher and Ella Lewis did most of the damage at the plate: Fletcher went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple, while Lewis got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Desiree Torres was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Design Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Design Tech now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Luis Valdez Leadership Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.
