Softball Recap: Ragsdale Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Ragsdale hadn't done well against Page recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Ragsdale Tigers put the hurt on the Page Pirates with a sharp 17-7 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won four matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Alexis Gray and Claire Souther did most of the damage at the plate: Gray scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Souther went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Gray is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Osborne, who scored three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Ragsdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .732. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .536 that Page posted.

Ragsdale's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 16 runs. As for Page, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ragsdale will square off against Southeast Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southeast Guilford will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Ragsdale surely won't give up without a fight. As for Page, they will face off against Northwest Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
