The North DeSoto Griffins will head out on the road to face off against the Northwood Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with North DeSoto sitting on eight straight victories and Northwood on three.
North DeSoto stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 55-8 victory over Bossier. Given North DeSoto's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Bossier is ranked 225th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North DeSoto to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Delafield, who threw for 232 yards and five touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Cory, who picked up 141 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Northwood can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past Woodlawn-Shreveport 48-18 on the road. Northwood pushed the score to 48-12 by the end of the third, a deficit Woodlawn-Shreveport cut but never quite recovered from.
North DeSoto's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for Northwood, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
North DeSoto and Northwood were almost perfectly matched up in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, but North DeSoto suffered an agonizing 20-19 loss. Thankfully for North DeSoto, Quintavion White (who rushed for 196 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
