The Hood River Valley Eagles lost against the Canby Cougars back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Hood River Valley's rough 67-45 defeat to the Cougars might stick with them for a while. Hood River Valley has not had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Canby got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaxon Lawson out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Jack Brauckmiller was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Hood River Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Canby, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hood River Valley is on the road again on Wednesday and plays the Broncos at 7:15 p.m. on January 31st. Parkrose is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home. As for Canby, they will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Oregon (Centennial is ranked 102nd, while the Cougars are ranked 98th).
