Aberdeen is 0-4 against the Knights since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Aberdeen Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Parkville Knights at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Wednesday, Aberdeen earned a 77-70 win over the Mariners. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Aberdeen.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Aberdeen to victory, but perhaps none more so than DARION PARRIS, who scored 28 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. PARRIS is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. JOMAR CAMACHO was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Parkville's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 66-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dundalk. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Parkville came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Owls are ranked 231st).
Parkville might have lost, but man, Mikko Persia was a machine: he scored 27 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Persia has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Alexander, who scored 21 points.
Aberdeen's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9. As for Parkville, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the pair are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Aberdeen hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 64.6 points per game. However, it's not like Parkville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 62.4 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Aberdeen came up short against the Knights in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 85-72. Will Aberdeen have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
