Mt. Vernon took on Licking Heights in a bug-themed battle on Monday. The Yellowjackets put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 16-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Mt. Vernon got a great performance from Jagger Dohn as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. Dohn has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

As for Licking Heights, they dropped their record down to 1-9-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
