They really took it to Frostproof for the full four quarters, racking up a 43-12 victory at home. With Lakeland ahead 28-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Lakeland's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zakharia Rutledge, who scored 14 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Rutledge has scored at least 25% of Lakeland's points. T'shyri Evans was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
When it comes to explaining why Frostproof lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shalayjah Robey. Despite the final result, she scored eight points.
Lakeland's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-15. As for Frostproof, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
Lakeland will head out on the road to face off against Lake Wales at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Frostproof, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hardee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
