The Orangeville Broncos put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 53-41 win over East Dubuque. Given Orangeville's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while East Dubuque is ranked 304th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Orangeville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nadalee Doyle, who scored 16 points along with eight steals. The contest was Doyle's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Whitney Sullivan, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 18 rebounds.
Orangeville's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-0. As for East Dubuque, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Orangeville and Proviso West will round out the year against one another at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at. Proviso West is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. East Dubuque will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Argyle at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Argyle has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 269 points over their last four contests.
