The Elizabeth Minutemen will face off against the Union Catholic Vikings at 5:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their  contests after big wins in their previous games.
On Friday, Elizabeth made easy work of Oratory Prep  and carried off  a  7-1 victory. The Minutemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six  runs or more this season.

 Eliezer Cepeda made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Those  seven  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  stolen bases, one  triple,  and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Jaime Tamayo and  Ian Acevedo did most of the damage at the plate:  Tamayo  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI, while  Acevedo  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  runs and one  stolen base.  Albert Maldonado also deserves some recognition as  he  snagged his first  stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Union Catholic waltzed into their game  on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Bees as they made off with  a  12-5 win.
 Greg Viloria was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Brayden Morrison, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Union Catholic  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least 11  hits in three consecutive  contests.
 Elizabeth is  on a roll lately: they've  won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record  this season. As for Union Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
