 Ian Downey was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. He  struck out seven batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run.
 In other batting news, Person got a  massive  performance out of  Keeghan Holmes, who  got on base  in all three of his plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double. Another player making a difference was  Brady Holmes, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  double.
 Person was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .450. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  batting average total in four consecutive  matchups.
 Meanwhile, Williams came into Friday's   game having lost ten straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They won by a  run and slipped past Orange  3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Bulldogs have posted  since April 12, 2024.
 Williams'  win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 6-10. As for Person, their record now sits at 15-5.
