The Los Molinos Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Burney Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Los Molinos will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Los Molinos barely beat Hamilton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Braves a 10-0 shutout on Monday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.
Addison Jones made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Natalie Martinez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Gracie Holmes was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
Los Molinos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .395 or higher in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Burney came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 10-5. That's two games straight that the Raiders have won by exactly five runs.
Like Los Molinos, Burney also got a great game from a two-way player: Mia Perez. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 20 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). Perez was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Alexis Witzel was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Perez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Los Molinos' victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Burney, their record now sits at 6-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Los Molinos has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Burney struggles in that department as they've been averaging 14.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Los Molinos beat Burney 9-5 in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
