This season hasn't been kind to the Brazos Cougars, who are still winless after their 26th game. They were beaten by East Bernard 54-14 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Brazos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1527th, while the Brahmas are ranked 649th).
It was another big night for Avery Scott, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds for East Bernard. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Scott has scored all season. Ashlynn Lemos was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six steals.
Brazos dropped their record down to 0-26 with that loss, which was their 11th straight at home. As for East Bernard, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-12 record this season.
Brazos will head out on the road to take on the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Bernard, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Leopards at 6:00 p.m.
