After flying high against the Westland Cougars last Friday, the Grove City Greyhounds came back down to earth. Grove City lost to New Albany on the road by a decisive 46-30 margin on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Grove City has scored all season.
Grove City's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kevin Gallagher, who scored eight points.
Grove City's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for New Albany, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.
Grove City will look to defend their home court on Friday against Westerville Central at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Westerville Central is ranked 41st, while Grove City is ranked 47th). As for New Albany, they will head out on the road to take on Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln is on a three-game streak of home wins, New Albany a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
