The Los Molinos Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Hamilton Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Los Molinos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday.
Los Molinos struggled with assists on Friday (the Wolverines had 13 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Los Molinos took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolverines.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Karson Fox, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 11 rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jaydin Underwood, who scored nine points.
Even though Hamilton has not done well against the Yellowjackets recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Hamilton made off with a 54-53 win over the Yellowjackets.
Hamilton found their leader in underclassman Kayden Strong, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Strong has scored at least a third of Hamilton's points. Caden Stickney was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Los Molinos' loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Hamilton, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Los Molinos have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Hamilton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.2 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Los Molinos was able to grind out a solid win over the Braves when the teams last played back in January, winning 50-42. Does Los Molinos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
