Riverside is 6-0 against Independence since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Riverside Ram will be playing in front of their home fans against Independence at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Thursday, Riverside ended up a good deal behind Briar Woods and lost 61-46. While losing is never fun, Riverside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Briar Woods is ranked 12th).
Meanwhile, Independence's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by Potomac Falls on the road and fell 54-25. Independence has struggled against Potomac Falls recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Independence, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Riverside took their victory against Independence when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 61-39. Does Riverside have another victory up their sleeve, or will Independence turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
