Having just played yesterday, the Snow Canyon Warriors will jump right back in to play the Tooele Buffaloes at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Snow Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday.
Snow Canyon had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 54-36 win over Elko. That 54-36 margin sets a new team best for Snow Canyon this season.
Snow Canyon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Owen Mackay led the charge by scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which Mackay has scored at least 25% of Snow Canyon's points. Another player making a difference was Owen Iloa, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 67 points the game before, Tooele were a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They took a 34-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of East. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tooele has scored all season.
Snow Canyon now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Tooele, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
