It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the ThunderRidge Grizzlies ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They slipped by Rock Canyon 43-42. The win was nothing new for ThunderRidge as they're now sitting on three straight.
ThunderRidge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Becca Winton, who scored 11 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Winton has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Candace Baker, who scored six points along with 16 rebounds.
Rock Canyon's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooke Harding, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Goode, who scored 13 points.
ThunderRidge's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Rock Canyon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. ThunderRidge will challenge Ponderosa at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ponderosa focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday. As for Rock Canyon, they will head out on the road to square off against Mountain Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
