It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Taft Senators can now relate to. They took a 35-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wyoming on Friday. Taft's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wyoming to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joel Hancock, who rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 81 receiving yards. Hancock has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Quaid Hauer, who rushed for 11 yards and two touchdowns.
Taft's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Wyoming, their win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1.
Taft does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wyoming will look to defend their home field on Friday against Shawnee at 7:00 p.m. Shawnee knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Wyoming likes a good challenge.
