The Meyersdale Red Raiders lost against the Windber Ramblers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Meyersdale was dealt a 59-19 loss at the hands of Windber. Meyersdale has not had much luck with Windber recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Meyersdale lost, one person who can't be blamed is Laurel Daniels. Despite the final result, she scored nine points. Daniels also posted two blocks for the first time this season.
Windber's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mariah Andrews, who scored 11 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. Autumn Walz was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meyersdale's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Windber, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Meyersdale will be home for the holidays to greet Berlin Brothersvalley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Windber, they will head out on the road to face off against Ligonier Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
