The Alba-Golden Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 54-37 bruising from Overton. While losing is never fun, Alba-Golden can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1332nd, while Overton is ranked 275th).
It was another big night for Bryce Still, who scored 21 points along with four steals for Overton. The matchup was Still's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joey Zalman, who scored ten points.
Alba-Golden's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Overton, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Alba-Golden will be home for the holidays to greet Trenton at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Overton, they will head out on the road to face off against White Oak at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
