First Baptist extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 4-1. They claimed a resounding 56-12 victory over the Mercy Culture Prep Royals. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won three games by 24 points or more so far this season.

First Baptist's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Jones, who threw for 306 yards and four TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Those 306 passing yards gave Jones a new career-high. Jonah Murphy was another key back, rushing for 100 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something First Baptist proved: they limited Mercy Culture Prep to a paltry 1.1 yards per carry. As for Mercy Culture Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

Although Mercy Culture Prep took the loss, they still got scores from Walker Hughes and Damarion Anderson.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Baptist will take on Rio Hondo Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Saints will need to watch out since the Kares have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests. As for Mercy Culture Prep, they will face off against DasCHE at 7:00 p.m. on October 4.
