The Pinewood Panthers entered their tilt with the Menlo School Knights with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Pinewood walked away with a 38-28 victory over Menlo School on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Pinewood also won the last time the pair played back in February.
Betti Hamori was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 15 points along with 9 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alex Facelo, who scored 8 points along with 6 assists.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Arthi Abhyanker, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Abhyanker scored a full 32.1% of Menlo School's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruiqi Liu, who scored 11 points along with 9 rebounds.
Pinewood's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Menlo School, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
Pinewood will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Los Gatos at 5:30 p.m. on December 13th. Menlo School's road trip will continue as they head out to face Terra Nova at 8:15 p.m. on December 7th.
