The Westerly Bulldogs will challenge the West Warwick Wizards at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Westerly is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Burrillville, who was ranked 15th at the time (Westerly was ranked sixth). The Bulldogs simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Broncos 35-7. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Landon Husereau produced another solid performance throwing for 221 yards and four TDs while completing 75% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Westerly's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.
Westerly's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Damon Uva and Colby Champlin, who racked up four sacks between them. Uva is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Caleb Williams was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks, forcing one fumble, and making six total tackles (2.5 for loss).
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Warwick). They breezed past Mt. Pleasant to the tune of 48-6 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Wizards in their matchups with the Kilties: they've now won three in a row.
Special teams played a big role in the game for West Warwick, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Michael Gallo, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
West Warwick now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Westerly, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
Westerly lost to West Warwick at home by a decisive 27-13 margin in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Bulldogs, James Branch (who rushed for 235 yards and three scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
