Basketball Recap: Western Brown Piles Up the Points Against Mt. Healthy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Little Miami, Western Brown was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 63-25 win over the Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 33 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Western Brown to victory, but perhaps none more so than J Jenike, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 13 points and four steals. Jenike has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Peyton Butler was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Western Brown is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 29.1% in those games and 30% outside of them. As for Mt. Healthy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-16.

Western Brown will head out to take on Batavia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Batavia will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Western Brown surely won't give up without a fight. Mt. Healthy has already played their next contest (against DePaul Cristo Rey), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
